Fabrication of ICHI channels & springs includes: pressure forming; machine arching; edge, corner and interior radiusing; special in-house heat treating; careful deburring; tumbling and finishing techniques; ICHI's exclusive process precision surface lapping; electrostatic part identification; thorough ultrasonic cleaning; and hand-polishing each piece to a mirror finish with near-perfect flatness.

Numerous quality control checks follow each piece through the various manufacturing stages. Special attention is given to checking for perfect flatness and low rms, mirror finish surfaces after first maintaining exact thickness tolerances with micrometer checks.
Superior Design
A larger inside radius between the channel base and wall reduces stress and increases durability. Appreciably thicker walls strengthen and stiffen the channel to prevent flexing which may result in metal fatigue and eventual breakage.
Springs are edge radiused with exact arch and length and are preset to assure constant tension. Radiused edges prevent a valve from hanging in the open position and losing compression due to binding between the channel and spring.
